My Wish List

I have an ever-growing wishlist of items that I bookmark in my browser. It's actually grown enough that I made a whole folder for it! I've learned this helps me not impulsively buy things, especially on Forever21! I thought it might be fun to share some of the items with all of you! (wow that was a lot of exclamation points)

Some items I learn about from YouTube and look them up to find the price. Since I've only heard about them from one person at this point I keep checking on them and try to watch for other people using/mentioning them. This is why I think it's handier to keep a list in my browser; this way I always have the list handy and can cross reference it. For example, I have three moisturizers bookmarked right now that I keep comparing... (let me know if you have any opinions of them)

And these are two shoes that I've had on the list for a looong time. I think the moccasins have been bookmarked since November, I just have such a hard time making the plunge when I've never tried on that brand before or ordered from the store.
I am super excited about the flats though because I used to have a teal pair that I wore all the time. I actually got them from Goodwill for $2.00 and wore them until they were worn through.

Looking Forward to Spring

I have been feeling so uninspired by the dreary days of winter. I am always so thankful for Valentine's Day because everything gets covered in bright reds, pinks and oranges. Now don't get me wrong, winter is fantastic, but it looses its luster after the holidays. So, this post is embracing my hope for spring to come sooner rather than later.

I do not switch out my clothes based on seasons; at least not when it comes to colors. I find a way to layer and accessorize so a bright colorful piece so works in the middle of January. However, I do change my purses! I have always loved bags so I think that's why I pay more attention to how they work with a season or outfit. Here are a few from Forever21 that would be perfect for spring time.

Product Review

I have a few products that I've tried out and was greatly disappointed in. I have a couple of products that I have been pleased with, but I will share those when I'm positive they're great.

I will start off with the product that I tried over a year ago. I realize it's a little weird to bring it up now, but I was disappointed in the quality that the feelings have stuck with me. The item is Kat Von D's tattoo concealer (and the pencil eraser ) and it claims that it is a 4 step process that's capable of covering anything from dark circles to tattoos. I have a good-sized tattoo on my neck that I wanted to cover for my sister's wedding, so I did some research and this product seemed to have good potential. When I made the order I was not happy with the price: $25 for the concealer and $15 for the pencil, plus shipping and tax. When I received it I was shocked by how tiny the bottle was, it being smaller than the palm of my hand! To put it simply, it didn't cover my tattoo, it didn't set no matter what I did. The directions say to make sure and wait for the pencil outline to dry before you put on the concealer, I waited at least 10 minutes and it would still smudge. The end result was a faded looking tattoo, definitely not covered and still very noticeable.

The next product is Wet n Wild's Natural Blend Lip Shimmer, basically a tinted lip balm. As a lip balm it worked very nicely, my lips felt smooth and moist. However, the smell was a funky mix of mint and your-mom's-old-lipstick. I'm really sensative to smells, so that was a big problem for me, not something I could get past. The other problem was the color; it had some weird gold/orange flecks in it that were not complementary to the base red-ish color. I would not be suprised if that was just a problem with the one I selected, but the smell will keep me from trying other. I think I got it for only a couple of dollars, so the price isn't bad and if you're okay with smells it might be worth trying.

Now the final product is a make up brush. I just recently got rid of my old brushes; I had had them since middle school or early high school. This was a brush that I picked up at K-mart; a couple of weeks earlier I had gotten the Ecotools' Bamboo set and was really impressed for the low price. The brand is Beauty, or Essence of Beauty, and I picked it because it was one of the few angled cheek brushes at the store and the quality look similar to the Ecotools burshes. The problem is that the bristles are coarse and hurt to use. I also feel like the brush hold a lot of the product and not much comes off on my face. You can actually see how the tip is still pretty pink and it stays like this even after I wash it.

Please leave a comment if you tried out these items too, I'd love to know what you thought!

Jason Wu for Target

I don't know if you've heard but Jason Wu is designing for Target. I was super excited when I heard this and even more excited when I found this link! You can read more information from that blog, but I wanted to pick out my favorite looks, ones that I will definitely be checking out.

Inspiration Thursday

I have to start with an apology, clearly all of my fun ideas for posts didn't happen. Trust me I was just as disappointed as you. :( However, here are a few pictures that I've been editing and working with for class that might be interesting for you as well. Today we worked with converting to black and white and before that we played with light; two things that I absolutely LOVE!

I am just going to put a quick note so that I've said it once - these pictures are mine, I took them, I edited them and I am not putting a mark/signature on them so that you can enjoy them as a whole. Please do not use them without giving me credit. :) Thanks!

Keep Checking!

This week I have leanred some really cool things in my photography class. I've known how to do simple editing and what elements make a good picture. But this class has taught me a lot more and pushed me to try new things. I am feeling really inspired right now and plan to take full advantage of the long weekend! In fact, I made sure to rent a tripod so make sure I get some really killer shots. In addition I've been blessed wtih a beautiful snow fall today and extra cuddley cats. So believe me, I will take advantage of this!

I plan on making a couple of posts this weekend to share this inspiration with all of you - so get excited!

I also went shopping yesterday, and T and I got hair cuts, so I'm feeling a little extra pretty this weekend, so I think I'll actually take some pictures of myself and share more of my personal style. I've also been expanding my make-up boundaries, so I'll be sharing what I'm learning in that department too.

Please be sure to follow me on twitter!

**I also have an update on MyGlam bag! I will be receiving my first bag in February! I am so so sooo excited!! Subscriptions re-opened for a limited supply, so I snagged one while I could. That means in about a month you'll have another post to be looking forward to. Yay!

Simple Cuteness

I came across these adorable, simple jewelery pieces last night and had to share them. I, like so many other girls, have jumped on the mustache-love bandwagon. I am still looking for a great mustache piece to buy; I'm not sure if it's going to be a mug or a ring or a necklace like this. Too many choices!!

These items caught my eye because they're so feminine but on a small scale, which is much more my style.

(all are from Forever21)
Bow Necklace - $1.50
Mustache Necklace - $2.80
Love Ring - $3.80

Monday Blues

We all get a case of the monday blues at least once in a while, so why not make them a little prettier?

The Essie nail polish is actually my favorite blue polish. Nail polish seems a little silly to spend a little extra on, but I love Essie's colors and their quality is one of the best. I can find it for $7.50 at CVS, although their site lists it for $8 and I paint my nails at least twice a week, so it's worth it for me.

Forever 21 best - $6.80
Alloy top - $19.90
DSW high heels - $44.95

A New Beginning

Happy new year to you all!! I hope you had a wonderful night and that it was spent with the people you love.

I am excited to start this new year; there's something about a new beginning that's motivating and enticing to me. One place I plan on applying that is on my blog. It feels a little silly since the blog had its own beginning just a week ago, but with more readers everyday I have high hopes.

School starts again on Tuesday which is exciting to me because it's out interterm, so I am only taking two classes, totally 4 credit hours. It's also exciting for you because I will have access to Photoshop and Illustrator again, which equals waaaay prettier images and layouts. Woohoo!

For now here are a few images I've beening enjoying on pinterest (original sources linked below as always).
