New York Fashion Week

I wanted this post to be my Thursday Inspiration... but, well, that clearly didn't happen. So, here it is now! New York Fashion Week!!!
It is my goal/dream to make it to fashion week some day. I would love to soak in all the fashion, make up and amazing style! There are so many talented people there - both giving shows and attending. I just want to be there!! Since I have school I took in all that I could from Twitter. I saved some of my favorite pictures from the week and thought I'd share them with all of you.
I highly recommend following Eva Chen's twitter and tumblr; she's the beauty editor at teen vogue and the source of most of these pictures. She has such fun, sweet tweets, I enjoy them even when it's not fashion week. The other Twitters I followed closely were MAC Cosmetics and Jane Shin Park, she is the Teen Vogue beauty and features editor.
Enjoy!

Inspiration For Your Thursday

This week has had its highs and lows and not much in between. These kinds of weeks leave me with such mixed feelings in the end, but it's always nice to reach the end. Some of the high points have been with my cats, which honestly feels a little funny to say. But, this semester I don't have any morning classes so I start my day with a cup of coffee and checking blogs on the couch. Nemu is particularly cuddley this time in the morning, so he always ends up napping on my tummy. It is so adorable! So this time I took some pictures to share and they turned out sooo cute! I have to admit, I'm in love with the pink tint...

Support Your Local Artist

Being an art major I get to walk through halls that are covered in beautiful art work. I love it!! From seeing all of this amazing work, especially from studio majors, I have developed a big passion for supporting other artists. Since I am in college this support usually means complimenting their work, but one day I plan on actually buying some pieces.
I think it's important to know that you can find more affordable pieces, especially on Etsy. The following three pieces are under $20 and each are so cool and wouldn't be hard to incorporate in any room. When you get a piece either ask the artist how they would recommend to frame it or make sure to explore a few options for yourself. This frame is what will finish the piece and help tie it in with other pictures you may have.

Monday Blues

I would just like to say that there were many technical difficulties with this post; a few that I could not overcome. I definitely bit off more than I could chew! It was just one of those times where I needed someone else, someone with a fresh pair of eyes - who knew what they were doing. So I apologize for the resolution, but I was so excited for the theme of "around the house" that I decided I would go ahead and post it. I hope you all still enjoy it!

Thursday Inspiration

Well, I realize it's past midnight which technically makes this Friday inspiration, but let's ignore that.
These are some images I found through Pinterest - I'll try and find their original sources though. This week I am sharing clothing as an inspiration; a lot of times I find vision in my closet. I love mixing old pieces to find a new outfit to fit my mood perfectly. I also might mix unexpected pieces to feel a little fresh and fun, like wearing bright red rain boots with a fun skirt to feel a little playful on a rainy day. The textures and colors of clothes and how they work together is one of the main reasons I love fashion.

I got them here {1234} - the first one is a blog that I just discovered.
